Haukka Exploration is a fully-integrated service company specializing in aggregate exploration, pit permitting and development, and pit management and operations with a strong focus on safety and accountability.

Haukka Exploration was founded in 2016 with the objective of using cutting-edge technology to improve the aggregate exploration process.
Between November 2018 and February 2019, Haukka Exploration tested 100 quarter sections and discovered over 5 million tonnes of high-quality and strategically located gravel resources. Haukka repeated its success during the winter of 2019-2020 by finding over 1.5 million tons of economically feasible gravel deposits in 20 quarter sections searched.
TECHNOLOGY

Haukka Exploration has developed gravel prediction models for western Canada using data collected from an ensemble of sources. Over 1.3 million square kilometers have been modeled using proprietary cutting-edge artificial intelligence algorithms, giving aggregate producers a drastically improved probability of finding gravel compared with traditional methods of exploration. These models allow Haukka to instantly discard over 99% of land unlikely to contain significant aggregate deposits. The remaining 1% is then analyzed from the ground and air to identify the best targets for field testing.

Data collection is an ongoing process used to continually enhance the accuracy of the model in existing areas, and new regions are being modeled as Haukka expands into new markets.
SERVICES
Exploration
Haukka Exploration provides full-service exploration using machine learning modeling and an experienced team of field personnel. Clients define an area of interest where gravel is required for their operations, and Haukka searches the area for the optimal deposit.

Field Work
Haukka Exploration has a fleet of drill trucks and earth-moving equipment for aggregate testing and Haukka's personnel have experience with electromagnetic sensing equipment. All field data is captured real-time with a cloud-based system to enable agile decision making and enhance exploration planning.

Landowner Relations
Haukka Exploration is committed to creating positive relationships when acquiring landowner permission to test for aggregates, and is experienced in developing legal documentation such as first right of refusal and lease agreements.

Pit Development & Permitting
Haukka Exploration is extremely knowledgeable at complete pit and reclamation planning: from acquisition of development permits through provincial code of practice approvals and registrations, water act approvals, and all other regulatory requirements.

Pit Management
Haukka Exploration has extensive experience maximizing resource recovery in an efficient manner through product quality control, safety management, inventory management, and aerial surveying.

Pit Operations
Haukka Exploration's parent company operates a full line of earth-moving and gravel processing equipment.

LANDOWNERS
Haukka Exploration welcomes landowners who believe they may have gravel on their land to contact us for a rigorous evaluation of their potential deposit. Haukka can ensure discovered aggregate resources are brought to market as quickly as possible with competitive royalty rates, and that the land is reclaimed properly at the end of the life of the pit.

Brad is a first class power engineer with a background in manufacturing in the oil and gas sector. He has owned and operated a gravel crushing and supply company since 2012. He realized early on that finding aggregate reserves was essential for his company to continue to grow and wasn't satisfied with the existing options. He heads Haukka Exploration and applies his vision for a better exploration and operations experience to the company every day.

Mark is an engineer specializing in software and hardware automation and has been involved in a wide variety of technology development projects as a consultant since 2006. He builds the machine learning models which form the basis of Haukka's proprietary exploration technology and manages the GIS data generated by the company's operations. Mark is also responsible for developing new technologies to enhance operational efficiency.

Kelsey holds a B. Sc. (Honours) in Geological Science and has more than a decade of open pit mining experience. His knowledge of surficial geology is critical to the team's success in exploration, and his experience with the regulatory environment in Canada ensures operations are approved in a timely manner and without surprises. Kelsey is also President of Martin Remote Sensing Corp. and Benefert Agri-Products.

Vance has extensive experience working in all aspects of gravel crushing operations. Originally a loader operator, Vance quickly worked his way up to the role of a crushing superintendent. He also has many years of experience drilling for gravel with thousands of holes tested.
